Fan-made factory horror

The games on this hub are inspired by a well-known horror series set in a deserted toy factory, but none of them are that series. They are third-party, fan-made and inspired titles from licensed providers, with no affiliation with or endorsement from the original's studio, and this page does not retell its story. What the fan games take is the setting and the fear: long dark corridors lined with toy displays, a grabbing gadget with extending hands, and a lanky blue plush creature — the internet's favorite huggy toy — who is friendly on a poster and something else in a vent.

The playable shape is a horror chase. You explore, you pull a lever or find a key, and at some point the lights go out and something fast starts following you. The wider shelf of that feeling is horror games; the granny-in-the-house version is under granny games and the pizzeria night-shift version under fnaf games.

Chase, hide, escape

Most titles fall into one of three loops. Escape games give you a factory floor to search for keys, codes and gadgets while the monster patrols on a route you learn by dying. Chase games strip that down to a run: a vent or a corridor, the creature behind you, and obstacles to duck and jump. Hide-and-seek games hand you lockers and cupboards and a monster that checks them in a pattern. Jump scares are the currency, so a game rated for younger players will say so on its page; the rest are made to make you flinch.

The label also catches the spin-offs: coloring pages of the blue toy, dress-up boards for the pink one with the bow, obstacle courses that repaint a platform run in factory colors and blocky survival maps. Those tone the horror down to almost nothing. The escape-room end has its own escape games hub, the rainbow-colored rival monsters are under rainbow friends games, and the platform courses under obby games.

Best played with headphones

Sound does half the work. The monster's footsteps, the hum of a machine, a nursery tune from a room you have not opened yet — the fan games lean on audio cues, so play with sound on and, if you want the full effect, headphones. On a desktop the controls are the first-person standard: WASD to move, the mouse to look, shift to run, E to grab, and the grab gadget aims with the cursor. On a phone the games add a joystick and a look pad, which works for the chase runs and the hide-and-seek titles but makes exploring a large map slower.

Nothing here downloads to your device; a black screen for a few seconds is a factory map loading. Younger players or anyone who dislikes jump scares should start with the coloring and dress-up spin-offs, or with the monster games hub where the creatures are mostly on your side, and save the survival games chases for later.
