Snake, but everyone is on the board

The slither format took the old snake game and put dozens of players on one map. Your worm follows the cursor or your thumb, grows as it eats, and dies the moment its head touches another body — but every other worm dies the same way, and when one does it bursts into a trail of food. Growing is slow; cutting in front of a bigger worm and letting it hit you is fast, and that is the whole strategy. The games here are third-party titles from licensed providers, inspired by the slither format rather than the original, and not affiliated with or endorsed by its maker.

Boost, coil and cut

Three moves matter. Boosting spends length to gain speed, and the good players use it in bursts to dart in front of a rival. Coiling wraps your body around a smaller worm so it has nowhere to go but into you. Cutting is the simplest: when a big worm is committed to a line, cross it, and its head is the one that dies. Everything else is patience — staying off the crowded center until you are long enough to bully, and never boosting toward food you cannot see the far side of.

Not every game here is a live arena. Many run against computer worms that behave like players, which makes them playable offline and far less tense, and some strip the crowd out entirely and become a single worm on a level with a goal. Any device, one finger

Slither games are among the best phone games on the catalog because the input is just a direction: drag a thumb and the worm turns, tap with a second finger to boost. On a desktop the worm follows the mouse and a click or the space bar boosts, which is more precise for tight coils. A round lasts as long as you survive, from seconds to a very long time, and there is no saved progress — each run starts as a tiny worm.
