About this game

YAOGUARD is a tower defense game rooted in the myths of the ancient Shan Hai world. Command legendary guardians — Yan Xiaotian, Bing Le, Sen Sen and more — to defend the Wall against endless waves of beasts and demons.

YAOGUARD places you in charge of a defence line in a world drawn from old Shan Hai stories. Your job is to keep the Wall standing while beasts and demons keep coming at it. You choose a guardian first, and the roster includes figures such as Yan Xiaotian, Bing Le and Sen Sen. Once a hero is picked, you tap the map to place that guardian where you want the defence to hold. On-screen buttons let you move around the interface, pause, change the speed and fire off hero skills. The game runs in a browser and works with touch or a mouse, so it suits phones as well as desktops.

How to play

1. Open the game and use the on-screen buttons to move through the interface.
2. Pick one of the guardians, for example Yan Xiaotian, Bing Le or Sen Sen.
3. Tap the map to deploy the guardian you chose.
4. Use the pause and speed buttons to control the pace of the waves.
5. Trigger hero skills with the skill buttons when beasts and demons push toward the Wall.

Tips & tricks

• Choose your guardian before you start placing anything on the map.
• Deploy heroes by tapping the map where you want the defence to sit.
• Use the speed button when you want the waves to move faster.
• Keep the pause button in mind if you need time to think about placement.
• Hero skills are on their own buttons, so watch for the moment they help most.
