Gun Thief Auto drops you into a city built from voxels, laid out as a 6x6 grid of blocks. You can wander the streets on foot or climb onto rooftops, and the districts around you vary as you move through them. Two ways to play are offered: a sandbox mode for free roaming and a mission mode built around contracts you accept. Police react to what you do through a wanted system, so causing trouble draws attention you then have to shake off. Getting around is handled by a range of vehicle classes, from sports cars to police cruisers, and combat uses weapons that include handguns and RPGs. The streets are populated by many kinds of NPCs, among them ordinary residents, officers, and members of rival gangs.

How to play

Move through the city on foot using WASD or the arrow keys, sprinting with Left Shift and jumping with Spacebar.
Press Enter Vehicle near a car to get in, then drive to reach contracts or escape the police.
Aim with Right Mouse Click and shoot with Left Mouse Click, switching weapons with the number keys 1-3 or the mouse scroll.
Accept mission contracts in mission mode, or simply roam in sandbox mode while the wanted system responds to your actions.

Rooftops are reachable, so climbing up can help you break line of sight when the police are after you.
