2048 is a sliding-number puzzle played on a four-by-four grid. Every move shifts the whole board, equal tiles that collide merge into their sum, and a new tile appears after a valid move. The target tile gives the game its name, but the real challenge is preserving enough empty space to keep making useful merges as the values grow.

How to play

Slide every tile up, down, left or right with one directional input.
Bring equal values together so they merge into a single higher tile.
Keep open cells available for the new tile created after each valid move.
Build the sequence until you create the 2048 tile, then continue for a higher score if space remains.

Tips & tricks

Keep the largest tile anchored in one corner instead of moving it through the centre.
Build values in a descending chain beside that corner so matching tiles can reach each other.
Avoid a move that leaves the board without an empty cell unless it also creates an immediate merge.
